In our preschool, we focus on the whole child development ensuring all-rounded education in a safe
and supportive environment. Compass Preschool is a place where children can develop their interests and passions, learn to understand themselves and others better, cooperate and explore the world through play and everyday experiences.
We are currently accepting applications for 2025/2026 school year
for Grade 0 (6-year olds).
In the following years we are planning to grow our preschool community by adding younger groups.
Bilingual preschool and kindergarten (Grade 0)
Educational activities and program in Compass preschool use project-based learning and are implemented in two languages – Polish and English. Each preschool group is supervised by two teachers: a Polish-speaking teacher and an English-speaking teacher / native speaker.
The preschool and kindergarten groups of 5- and 6-year-olds are introduced to elements of expeditionary learning. The children will participate in crew meetings, city projects, and engage with parts of EL Education Language Arts Curriculum.
Children learn English through immersion, i.e., together with the teacher, they immerse themselves in the foreign language. Every day, children have two educational blocks — in Polish and English. This allows them to build skills and knowledge naturally in both languages.
Nonviolent Communication (NVC)
At Compass, we build relationships based on respect and empathy. We treat the child as a ‘little person’ who has the right to have their own vision of the world and their own emotions. They learn to express their needs and build relationships with others. We support children in learning to understand themselves, their own feelings and needs, and in noticing the feelings and needs of others.
We believe that communication founded on respect and understanding allows the little person to develop self-regulation skills, a sense of self-worth, confidence in their own abilities, as well as attentiveness and empathy towards others. These are the traits that will help the child more easily achieve success in the future, both academically and personally.
Ways in which we implement Marshall Rosenberg’s philosophy
of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) in our preschool:
- We learn mutual respect and celebrate diversity.
- We treat a child’s behavior as an expression of their important needs and we try to understand those needs.
- We accept all needs and emotions. We learn ways to meet our needs while respecting others.
- We create rules that protect the needs of both children and adults.
- During educational activities and free play, we create space for children to make choices.
- We respond to difficult behaviors by helping children to self-regulate.
- We know that children learn best by observing and modelling. That is why we are creating a community of teachers who constantly develop their NVC competences.
DAY SCHEDULE
The preschool is open from 07:30 to 17:30
The bilingual curriculum is implemented during educational activities from 9:00 to 15:00
The educational activities are divided into two blocks: morning block and afternoon block, one of which is taught in English and the other – in Polish.
Every day, between the two educational blocks, children have an hour-long break for lunch and to go outside.
Sample Daily Schedule
07:30 – 08:30 – Free play
08:30 – 09:00 – Breakfast*
09:00 – 12:00 – English Educational Block (various creative and learning activities with a morning snack break in between)
12:00-13:00 – Lunch break and play/walk outside
13:00-15:00 – Polish Educational Block** (various creative and learning activities with a break when the children need it)
15:00-15:30 – Afternoon snack
15:30-17:30 – Free play and extracurricular activities
* Meals are available for an additional fee and provided by a catering company. It is not obligatory – children can bring their own food.
** The order of educational blocks (Polish, English) may change depending on the day of the week.
fees
The registration fee for the school year 2025/26 is 2 500 PLN.
This is a one-time fee when enrolling your child in preschool.
In the 2025/26 school year, the yearly tuition fees for preschool are PLN 23 400 PLN payable by the 10th of each month:
- in 10 monthly installments (10 x 2 340 PLN)
or - in 12 monthly installments (12 x 1 950 PLN)
Bonuses:
- 5% for children from preschool “Czyżyk”
- 15% for the 2nd child enrolled in Compass preschool and school
- 30% for the 3rd child enrolled in Compass preschool and school
- 40% for the 4th child enrolled in Compass preschool and school
